Home/ Smart AV Solutions/ Whole-home audio and video

Whole-home audio and video.

Music and video from the same sources in every room you choose. Volume and source sit on the same keypad as the lighting, so nobody needs an app to play music in the kitchen.

A warm plaster ceiling with two flush paint matched loudspeakers set as a stereo pair either side of the room center line

The problem

There is a speaker in every room and a different app for each one.

Audio added a room at a time ends up as four systems, four apps and four accounts, and guests can use none of them. One distributed system puts every room on the same sources and the same control, with speakers chosen and placed for each room.

The same music and video sources in every room.

Volume and source sit on the keypad by the door, so guests can use it without an app or instructions.

Rack
Illustrative plan. Every zone runs back to the rack in the equipment room.

Follow meThe music walks the house with you: kitchen, living room, lanai, pool deck, then the dock.

Every roomEvery zone plays the same source at once.

All offEvery zone off, from one button or the app.

OfficeA pair in the ceiling, on its own home run back to the rack.

Living roomFlush speakers in the ceiling, volume and source on the keypad by the door.

KitchenIts own zone, so the kitchen and the lanai can play different things.

Primary suiteIts own zone, so the suite can be quiet while the house plays.

GymIts own zone and its own volume.

LanaiWeather rated speakers in the lanai ceiling.

Pool deckLandscape speakers low in the planting, aimed at the deck.

DockWeather rated speakers at the dock, on the same system as the house.

PlayingHome run from the rack

A bronze landscape speaker among bromeliads beside a shell path at dusk, a path light behind it
Outside, a landscape speaker sits low in the planting.
A lanai summer kitchen in the evening, flush speakers in the timber ceiling and the pool and palms beyond
On the lanai, weather rated speakers sit in the timber ceiling.
A club room at night: a glass wine room lit from within, a bar and a flush speaker in the ceiling, the lanai door open beyond
Inside, the speakers sit flush in the ceiling.

Speakers, sources and control, designed as one system.

Speakers

Architectural speakers set into the ceiling or the wall as matched pairs on one plane, sized to the room and angled toward where people sit.

Positioned for the room, not for the easiest mounting point.

Sources and distribution

Streaming and library sources in the rack, distributed to every room, with matrix switching so any source can reach any screen.

Held centrally, so a source is added once rather than room by room.

Control

Volume and source on the keypad by the door and on the app, in the same place as the lighting scenes rather than in a separate app.

The same control surface as the rest of the house.

We are authorized on Crestron, Lutron HomeWorks, Vantage, Sonos, Savant, Josh.ai and Origin Acoustics, so we choose the line that suits the house and the drawings.

Common questions

Yes, if the cabling is run for the rooms you might want. Cable is cheap while the walls are open and expensive afterwards, so we run cable to more rooms than you are equipping now and leave the spare runs ready for later.

No. Architectural speakers sit flush in the ceiling or the wall, and in a room where nothing should be visible they can go behind the finish. That is a decision made with the designer before the ceiling closes.

No. CITE Electric is an unlimited electrical contractor under the same ownership, so the circuits, the panel and the devices they feed are ours, and so is the programming. There is no handover between two firms and no argument about whose side a fault sits on.

A Bronze care plan comes with the system, covering seasonal startups and shutdowns, twice-yearly maintenance visits and technical support. Silver, Gold and Diamond add after hours support, more service hours, faster scheduling and network health monitoring.
