A large house on standard switching ends up with banks of plates by every door, a different switch layout in every room, and no way to turn the house off on the way to bed. Lighting control replaces the switches with a small number of keypads whose buttons are scenes, not circuits. The wiring changes behind the wall. What changes for you is that one button does the whole room, correctly, every time.
Cooking, dining, film, away and goodnight, each set to suit the room and the hour. Schedules then run each scene at its time of day. The same lighting control goes into clubs, offices and hospitality.
